EVENTS COMMITTEE
The Events Committee is broken down into four subcommittees that each focus on planning specific types of events and two subcommittees that focus on our two annual events. The four subcommittees are each headed up by a coordinator that works closely with committee volunteers and staff to ensure the success of each event. Currently, the four committees focus on Tours & Presentations, Give Back Events, LEED User Groups, and Chapter Trainings and Workshops. Annual events such as the Green Gala and the Municipal Green Building Conference & Expo each have Chairs.
The Ecomm has had a full calendar of events throughout 2009. Members have had the opportunity to tour a wide variety of LEED rated buildings including the Bentley Prince Street carpet factory, the Water + Life Museum, historic Pasadena City Hall, the Getty Museum, and Beachbody Offices at the Lantana. Networking events and Give Back events have increased the Chapter’s presence in the community and offered more opportunities for members to connect with each other. LUGs have helped Chapter members share their experiences and learn from local experts regarding LEED topics and issues. The dedication of the subcommittees, staff, and volunteers has created some very special events this year for USGBC-LA members.
